Frequently Asked Questions

I  Necessity of the foundation course

Will it not be taxing for a student to do the foundation course during standards IX and X, which is beyond the school syllabus? One can anyway start the IIT-JEE preparation from Std.XI. Also, considerable attention should be given for the board exams during standard X. Then, why should a student undergo the foundation course? What is the necessity and importance of the foundation course?

Meant for only a bright student :

Foundation course at SMART is not meant for everyone. It is for the bright students who are comfortable with their school work and are interested in learning Maths, Physics and Chemistry with more insight, perhaps with the aim to join IIT in the future. .

Infact, necessary for a bright student :

In general, those who are already quite comfortable with the school syllabus can learn more and enhance their skills. The school syllabus is meant for the average and the talented students have great potential to learn much more. They should not be restricted in the process of learning and must be allowed to learn and explore more. .

In that sense, it can be said that it will be wastage of their talent, if not nurtured. Infact, the foundation course will have a great impact on the knowledge and aptitude of a bright student and will be the stepping stone for his/her success in the future.

Pleasure and not taxing :

A bright student takes lot of pleasure in learning the subjects of his/her liking. Its also natural for such students to relish challenge and the foundation course keeps them engaged to bring the best in them. They will view the foundation course as an excellent opportunity to enhance their aptitude and knowledge. They also have sufficient time to work. For others, learning more may be taxing. But, for these students, that's where their interest lies.

.Enhancement of Conceptual Clarity and Problem Solving Skills

The foundation course will make the students acquire good level of conceptual clarity in the three subjects. It is very important to have such clarity as it forms the very basis of their knowledge. Application of the concepts through good level of problem solving is another important aspect of the learning process, which they will get acquainted with. These two form the remarkable difference between the ways of learning at school and at the foundation course.

.Provides the right direction

Many talented students of IX and X standard level are without proper direction of learning and working. But, many parents are interested in giving their children the right direction of learning after identifying some talent in them. This foundation course will give the right direction and orientation of learning, and will be the necessary driving force for the students to work systematically.

.Smooth Transition for IIT-JEE Preparation

Many students who are very good in school studies are not able to meet out the expected levels of thinking and problem solving as required for IIT-JEE preparation, especially during the considerable portion of their standard XI. In other words, they are not able to suddenly get adjusted to the higher levels of analysis, conceptual nuances and varieties of application, as it is not the learning process in school or for that matter in any tuition classes meant for school syllabus all along till standard X.

This foundation course will mould the students to think well and make them apply the concepts much better through problem solving. Hence, it will form a relatively smooth transition in standard XI for such students to get adjusted to the levels of thinking required for IIT-JEE preparation.

XI standard made easy and hence more time for IIT-JEE preparation

There is a considerable leap in the difficulty level of the XI standard CBSE syllabus, compared to that of standard X. Hence, many students though might have performed very well till standard X, spend more time in coping with the school syllabus itself during standard XI. But, XI standard syllabus will be very familiar for the students of foundation course, and hence it becomes easier for them to handle the school exams in standard XI.

This gives a distinct advantage for the students of foundation course, as they will be in a better position to balance the school work and IIT-JEE preparation during standard XI. With proper efforts during standards IX and X, work load and pressure in standard XI can be eased out considerably, which is extremely important as more time will be available for IIT-JEE preparation.

Perfect launchpad for IIT-JEE preparation

Since foundation course students will be familiar with concepts and preliminary level of problem solving in XI and XII standard CBSE syllabus, it will be the perfect launch-pad for IIT-JEE preparation, since IIT-JEE is based on the XI and XII CBSE syllabus itself. They will have a good head-start in all the topics and hence will be more comfortable in assimilating advanced concepts and will be quick to adapt to higher levels of problem solving.

Infact, no other choice because of peer pressure

There are hundreds (or thousands) of students across India doing IIT-JEE foundation course of one kind or another. In Chennai, many bright students from various schools undergo foundation course at SMART. Since their preparation level will be much better than that of others when they enter standard XI, they will have considerable competitive edge in their preparation towards competitive exams like IIT-JEE. Hence, even from this point of view, one is left with no other option than to stay competitive by undergoing the foundation course.

Helpful for X Board Exam as well

Last but not the least, foundation course will be of good use for the X standard board exam as well. With the introduction of Higher Order Thinking Skills (HOTS) and increase in the competition, even talented students need some special support to excel and attain perfect scores in the board exams. The concepts and their applications covered in the topics related to X standard syllabus will make the students be well equipped for facing any conceptual question in the board exam.

.Foundation Course students will have study materials for IX and X standard syllabus and it is designed to help them in understanding their syllabus more comprehensively and with better clarity. Regular tests based on the school syllabus will also be conducted. There won't be any necessity for additional school tuition as well if one opts for that.

To be at the top arena of ranking in the national level

With the knowledge and analytical skills developed through the foundation course, a talented student who has worked systematically for all the three subjects, will be placed at the top arena of ranking among peers in the national level.

II Course Structure and Schedule

What is the course structure and schedule ?

For IX standard students, the foundation course will be from June to March, and for X standard students, it will be from June to January. The course is offered in the following centres: West Mambalam , Adyar, Annanagar, Chromepet, Gopalapuram, K K Nagar and Nanganallur. Regarding the schedule kindly contact the office – 9500023248/9.

III Maths Olympiad Classes

What is the role of Olympiad Maths Classes ?

For those who have good flair in Maths, Olympiad Maths classes are a must as it will have tremendous impact on their preparation towards IIT-JEE. This is the best possible way of enhancing one's analytical skills and it has pronounced effect in one's development of aptitude and problem solving skills. In IIT-JEE, Maths is the toughest of the three subjects, and hence good exposure and experience in Olympiad Maths will be of great help.

Olympiad Maths has syllabus of its own, some of which coincides with that of IIT-JEE. The problems encountered in these classes will be more challenging and hence everyone can't be comfortable with it.

 IV Coursework

What is the expected level of work to be done by a student ? Any more information on the three subjects taught and the tests conducted?

Though there is no mandatory stipulation, it can be said that, if the students can spend around two hours per day on an average, they can derive the best out of this course. As months progress, they may involve themselves more than this as well. They can utilize the holidays quite well. It is left to the caliber and individual driving force in a student to spend as much time as he/she feels. .

Understanding Maths will not be an issue for the students, though it involves higher level syllabus and problem solving. Physics involves lot of conceptual understanding and mathematical treatment as well. This will be quite challenging for many students, especially in the beginning, as they are not used to such levels of thinking and analysis. They need to make proper notes and get their doubts clarified in the class itself. They have to work systematically from the materials and books on a weekly basis, apart from thoroughly revising the class notes. Otherwise, it will become a troublesome subject in few classes itself.

For the first five to six months, Numerical Chemistry will be dealt with, as it is very essential for competitive exams. Here also, many students will face the difficulty, if they are not systematic. Once the descriptive part of Chemistry takes over, it will not be that difficult.

The best background required for handling the foundation course will be provided by the pre-foundation course (Sub-Junior Smart). Hence, those with that background will have a better transition.

The tests conducted for the foundation course syllabus will be quite challenging and hence will not be high scoring exams. Enough room for thinking and exploring will be there so that the systematic study and analysis is encouraged. Last minute preparations will not be suffice. The standards set in the tests act as the driving force for the talented students to prepare more efficiently.

One remarkable feature of the foundation course is that, enough room for self-exploration will be created for the students to probe many things on their own, through the appropriate books and materials provided to them. This will enhance their maturity in thinking quite considerably and that will be a great asset for them in the future. Hence, talented students should spend time in thinking and perhaps even discussing with their peers if needed be, about various conceptual issues they encounter while studying and solving problems. This will have a remarkable effect not only on their conceptual clarity, but also on their maturity in thinking and analytical skills.

However, full-fledged understanding of the XI-XII CBSE syllabus as required for IIT-JEE will happen only during the Senior Smart Course. So, a student should not feel dejected in not being able to understand advanced aspects when they read the books etc, or while solving problems beyond their current limitations. One has to be quite patient in such issues.

The overall real benefit of this foundation course will be realized only during the XI standard. Students who have put in more work for the foundation course will be at the best possible position to excel in their preparation towards competitive exams esp. IIT-JEE.

V Admission Criterion

What is the criterion for admission into Junior Smart Course ?

.Admission is based on two things :

    1. Quite consistent performance around 80% or above, in mainly the school math exams.
    2. Performance in the entrance exam conducted by SMART.

Regarding the Entrance Exam : It will be on Maths [8 th std. CBSE Maths and NTSE Maths may be taken as a good reference] for two hours and on Mental Ability [NTSE may be taken as good reference] for one hour. It will be above the standards of school exams and will be a tool to distinguish students with good knowledge and aptitude from others.

Testimonials

K.Anish kumar, XI D.A.V boys school gopalapuram

As  I walk down the memory lane my mind filled with nostalgic memories of K K Anand Sir's classes which were in the morning.  I still remember the way I used to curse myself for enrolling in his classes but now I am able to reap the benefits.  Most of the topics for IITJEE were already covered in Junior entrance coaching.  Hence, it is more like a recap when he revisits them again in 11th-12th IITJEE coaching.

He is a stupendous teacher with a right proportion of dedicated teaching and fun.  He is such a dedicated teacher that he never used to cancel any of the classes even the during the heavy rains that lashed the city. He has been no less when it comes to rewarding students for their good work as he had done so on smart day.

The Junior programme is so well designed that if one is serious about it he can ace through 11th - 12th CBSE syllabus. He used to give us a lot of leeway when in 10th as he knew the plight of students in certain schools.

how could I ever forget his motivating speeches? I learnt a lot when I was in junior smart ,not only in the field of physics, chemistry or maths but also in terms of good ethics and morals from sir. This is also the most cost effective coaching classes around the city. He was the one who developed my interest in physics by explaining the nuances of the subject and also the power of the subject which can explain all occurrences in nature. Thus KK Anand sir's classes were a part of me.

J.R.Rohit Krishna (CBSE: 483/500) Sir Sivaswami Kalalaya Senior Secondary School

Any student in their schooldays aspires to be an IITan. But dreaming about it is never enough as it has to be followed up with hard work in the initial stages itself.

This is where the importance of a foundation course comes into play and at SMART you get the best training and more.

I came to know about KK sir's foundation course through a relative but my parents were initially hesitant to enroll me.They wanted me to study at another popular institute in Chennai.

But now they think different. They noticed the changes in me after the foundation course and are very satisfied with my results in the board exams as well as in the tests at SMART.

During the foundation course, you get to learn the basic concepts of the maths, physics and chemistry which is needed for IIT entrance preparation. The portions taught include 11th and 12th standard cbse syllabus.

More than all this,  KK sir's inimitable style of teaching and the way he puts forth the concepts is the USP of the foundation course at SMART. During the analysis of a sum, the way he makes you identify the wrong approach is always enjoyable (he will discuss the sum and purposefully arrive at the wrong step so that you can identify the correct method of applying the concepts).

During the initial days, I was unable to make head or tail of what was being taught. Any person will feel the same during the initial days but gradually by putting in effort you will be able to do well. It is really essential that you work for atleast 1.5 to 2 hours a day excluding school work. My personal advise is that please do not try to attend the next class without revising the previous class portions. It complicates matters a lot.

Another important aspect of the foundation course is that it makes the transition to IIT entrance preparation very smooth and you will never realize that you have become mentally more mature.

School is made a cakewalk and you will usually end up doing much better than others in school exams. Also, board exam becomes more manageable and easy.

Apart from all these serious stuff, you get to make friends with the best brains of the city. I ended up making more than 15 friends and you can really enjoy yourself in their company.

Looking back, the foundation course was really the most crucial phase in my preparation for IIT entrance. I hope more youngsters benefit from SMART.

Narasimhan PS Senior - NTSE Scholar, Appeared for INMO 2008 & 2010

I don't know where to begin. I joined Anand sir's foundation course as I had heard a lot about his classes from some of my friend's who were attending his classes for the maths Olympiad in the 8 th standard.

The foundation course classes were on Sundays in the afternoon. I was living in south Chennai at that time, about 15 to 17 kms from the where the classes were taken. I can still remember the first class of the foundation course. Anand sir started trigonometry for us. I was impressed by the way sir handled the class. Though what we did was quite elementary it seemed very challenging to me at that point of time.

During the ninth , we covered a large part of the syllabus for CBSE (11 th ) in mathematics, physics and Chemistry. The basic concepts I learned are of great help now as I can grasp advanced concepts discussed without too much difficulty.

Of all 3 subjects I enjoyed physics the most (though at that time a lot went above my head). The way sir explained the concepts was amazing. The maths we did helped me a lot in the Olympiad too. We had a few tests in the course. They were very challenging and I was not exposed to tests of that difficulty before.

In the first test I wrote, I scored 33 on 140 and came in the top 10 of the class. Rather than getting demoralised, the test motivated me to work harder and do better.

In the tenth the classes were in the morning. My parents were not too happy at the prospect of classes at 7 am on a Sunday because it meant they had to wake up by 5. But I was sure that I wanted to attend the classes.

I would recommend the foundation course to any bright student who is keen on doing well in all competitive exams. Another point I would like to say is that not to take the course lightly. If one works sincerely during the foundation course, his/her transition during 11 th will be very smooth and will find himself/herself doing very well both in school and the JEE classes.

G.Ananthakrishnan XI A, P.S.Senior. Mylapore – Appeared for KVPY Interview; Cleared RMO 2008-09; Selected for ZIO 2010 training camp

I learnt about sir's classes by the end of my eighth standard through a few of my friends. Since all my friends were joining I too joined the classes. I think that this is the best thing I have done in my life. Attending the classes for two years brought in me a whole lot of changes, thanks to sir.

Sir is a far sighted person and that makes the course the better than similar courses elsewhere. The portions covered were eleventh and twelfth standard CBSE mathematics, physics and chemistry. These not only helped us in school but also ensures that no class of sir's SENIOR SMART course is Greek and Latin. This is because the chapters covered at Foundation course and school are the same while the same chapters are done to a larger extent at SENIOR SMART course.

Sir's classes are not monotonous. With jokes in between and discussions about many topics, five hours of classes are never felt as too long. Classes are more conceptual. Students are given time to solve most of the problems. Tests are periodic initially, but as the “Tenth standard factor” increases, tests reduce.

Sir knew nearly all students by name and this ensured the personal touch. Those who sincerely went through this course have understood its significance while attending SENIOR SMART classes or while attempting NSEA or KVPY.

But more than all these, what caught my friends' and my attention towards sir is the importance he gives to Olympiads. This is a unique feature of SMART that can be found nowhere else. Sir ensures that all his tests at SENIOR SMART course are at par with the national Olympiads. But not many realize the importance of these Olympiads which is a sad thing.

Mathematics Olympiad is often considered a separate entity from IIT mathematics. But sir encouraged us and even took classes for a few months before asking our senior, IITian G.Vignesh to continue classes and help in our preparations towards the Regional Mathematics Olympiad. It was solely their training that helped me to clear RMO 2008 during my tenth standard. The importance of this course is not understood by even a few and many neglect it. The course helps us think differently and reduces preparation time, thereby helping the students a lot.

I feel thankful to sir for his guidance, training and advice during these two years and hope that many utilize it.

S. Akshayaram PS Senior - NTSE [interview stage], Appeared for INMO 2009 & 2010, secured 9 th rank in AMTI second level

I first joined Shri. K.K. Anand Sir's Maths Olympiad Classes when I was in Eighth Standard. Every class would be a brainstorming session which inculcated the real sense of Problem Solving Ability in every student. The classes were so interesting that I couldn't miss a single class inspite of the fact that the classes were held early in the morning.

My association with Anand Sir continued in my Ninth and Tenth Standards through IIT JEE foundation Course. The classes were so absorbing that Hours passed as Minutes. I was quite impressed with his teaching methodology. He gave detailed explanations to difficult concepts, especially in Physics, which made them easy for every student to understand.

The foundation course along with Olympiad programme helped me to crack RMO 2008.I felt the real effect of the Foundation course when I kick-started Senior SMART course for IIT Entrance. It gave me a clear advantage over other non foundation course students in terms of ability to solve assignment problems and perform well in tests. It also helped me strike a balance between the School curriculum and IIT JEE entrance course. I am greatly indebted to Shri. Anand Sir for all that he has given to me and I wish and pray that more number of students get benefited from Anand Sir's exemplary teaching.

Suraj.P.K, S.B.O.A School & Junior College

I feel quite privileged to write about the experience of my foundation course.

My Experience of two years;

I am quite fortunate to attend whole of the foundation course unlike in the case of my friends who missed a few classes. First up I found myself under motivation and also quite a lot of pressure for adjusting to the circumstances. It was as if being pushed into thick thorny forest. The class atmosphere was excellent. But I found it to be difficult cope up with various physical and mathematical concepts. Some were astonishing and also immensely painful too. Though it took some time to get adjusted I started to fell more confident. I also found myself on a higher note than others in my school. I found it to be easy enough it to cope up with my school subjects.

Foundations course according to me:

Foundation course ultimately was about how you interpret things and how efficient you are in applying it. I fell it quite important for an IIT aspirant to have a good foundation before the main IIT preparation as it gives a clear picture what IIT is. I think that I had a great foundation course under the guidance of KK sir. Kksir's foundation course mostly covered most of the important conceptsof higher education and Mathematics Olympiad.

A student surely requires having caliber and confidence on him towards the subject which makes it a great foundation course. One must also employ a great deal of hard work to beat all the odds.

KK sir's teaching;

I find KK sir's teaching quite superb and quite simple to understand the subject and concepts. KK sir's presence makes the class really breathtaking. He makes everything simple and easy that I find it astonishing. I think that his teaching is completely and exclamatory with all the concepts.I surely honor him for taking his profession as education rather than any other.

My Olympiad experience:

I feel privileged to have also attended Mathematics Olympiad classes. Once I came up to know about Olympiads I thought that it is the right time to prepare for Olympiads.

Olympiads having a completely different dimension has indeed a lot of interesting concepts other than those concepts dealt in foundation .

I would like to thank my parents for motivating me and as well as making me join in SMART FOUNDATION COURSE.

Rashmi Ramesh, STD X, PSBB KK Nagar - NTSE Scholar; Silver in SMO-Junior-2008

As a student of the IIT-JEE foundation course, I would first like to thank KK Anand Sir for his motivation, support and guidance throughout.

In my 8 th Std., I secured city II rank in IIT foundation course entrance exam conducted by an institute and was awarded cash prize and scholarship. I was too delighted and enrolled myself in that institute's IIT foundation course. However, only later did I come to know about KK Anand Sir and his SMART classes.

After a detailed analysis and comparison of the various private institutions for IIT with SMART, I realised beyond doubt that Anand Sir's study materials and classes are of no match to other institutions in the city. The syllabus is far ahead and helps in other competitive exams like AMTI, Olympiads as well. With no second thought, I made the right decision by joining the SMART foundation course and Anand Sir with great motivation gave me preparatory material for NTSE which helped me in clearing it. With his guidance I secured Silver medal in Singapore Maths Olympiad 2008.

One would wonder what is so unique and special about KK Anand Sir and his SMART classes. With his great command over Maths, Physics and Chemistry he handles all three subjects with ease. He is more than just a professor.. I was amazed by his friendly approach to all his students. His classes are filled with joy and humour. His jokes (related to the subject) push us into laughter for a few minutes. He is approachable at any time of the hour and readily clears all doubts even over phone.

On the SMART day (June 6 th ) conducted every year, he felicitates all the meritorious students in each class.

Thus, SMART is the best place to be in to realize one's aspirations of cracking IIT-JEE.

It is truly said that,

“ smart is the right place for the real talents ”.

G Sriram X, P S Senior, Mylapore – Selected for INOI 2009 (Indian National Olympiad in Informatics)

Like many people in Chennai, my parents also were under the impression that it is more than enough to start preparations for IIT- JEE from 11 th std, after the board exams. But this was before we spoke to K.K .Anand Sir, who made us realize that for such a competitive exam like IIT entrance preparations that begin from 9 th standard itself are quite late. He emphasized the fact that only if we start preparing for IIT-JEE in 9 th standard and begin working with a focused approach we would stand a chance while competing with lakhs of people. It was only then that I realized what a serious affair IIT entrance is and I started doing something towards my goal.

From the very first of sir's classes I knew I had made the right choice in coming to him as his knowledge and continuous motivation amazed me. He gives more importance to hard work than talent and believes that each one of his students can clear IIT entrance if they invest quality time everyday for it. Many of us are still under the impression that school is the limit to knowledge and our aims are set lower. Just to top Board Exams is the aspiration of many but unless we put in some more meticulous work it would be very difficult to get a decent college leave alone IIT.

Sir's guidance and way of teaching is very unique and it enables us to understand portions of higher classes in 9 th and 10 th standards itself, K.K.Anand Sir gave us the right choice of books which gives us in depth understanding of the subject . The tests he conducts is at a level almost more than AIEEE and serves as a bench mark for our preparations. It is astounding to see that sir knows each and every student's strengths and weaknesses and helps them to work in the right direction. Each and every class of Sir's is so interesting that we just cannot wait for the next class.

I would like to conclude by saying that it is not the talent but direction of the talent which is important and K.K.Anand Sir is the best person to help us to do that . He drills our brain and brings the best out of us, the impact of which is felt at school as well. We get to score high marks rather easily. His classes are easily the best in the city and I wholeheartedly recommend this to all students .

R.Krishnan 2008-12 batch, XII, DAV Public School, IMO-TC 2010, 2011 Attendee, KVPY Fellow, RMO 2011 State Topper

I was about to join another coaching institute for IIT-JEE foundation course (Std.IX and X) before I heard about SMART. I attended KK Anand Sir’s Orientation lecture, immediately made the right decision and joined SMART. The foundation course was fantastic. KK Sir made the concepts crystal clear with his patience and his natural talent in teaching. Classes were nothing other than “interesting”. I often wonder how he makes standard 9 students be clear with the 11th CBSE syllabus. His classes were always inspiration-packed. His extraordinary methods of teaching, which included the cracking of jokes in between increased my interest in these subjects.

He encouraged Mathematics – Olympiads preparation and prescribed many excellent books. Separate classes were conducted (in SMART) by his previous batch students. All this, along with the 11th standard Mathematics knowledge gained in the foundation course helped me clear INMO in my Xth Standard.

When the actual IIT-JEE training began in April, 2010, it was a new experience. Concepts were taught in-depth and I thoroughly enjoyed it. Physics was at its best. Chemistry and Mathematics were also very interesting. He discussed many Physics, Chemistry and Maths Olympiad problems in the class. With the abundance of problems discussed and prescribed, no one can miss the nuances of various concepts and their applications.

The indepth knowledge gained during his classes in 11th along with the understanding of the subjects in the foundation course together helped me a lot in my preparation for KVPY. He conducted separate classes for KVPY and provided study materials which were sufficient to get through in the KVPY Test as well as the interview. My success at the INMO and KVPY is hence attributed to the support and valuable guidance of K K Anand Sir and SMART.

SMART is the best place for students aspiring for entrance into IIT and am hoping to do well in IIT-JEE 2012.

SANJAY GANAPATHY, 2008-12 batch, XII – BHAVAN’S RAJAJI VIDYASHRAM, KVPY FELLOW, Selected for INJSO 2009 (Indian National Junior Science Olympiad)

I joined KK Anand sir's classes in my IX Std. I was looking for a proper place for IIT-JEE coaching. Most students in my area were enrolling in the most popular institution in my locality. But, fortunately I chose not to follow them.

When I started hunting for other coaching institutions in Chennai, I came across a comment posted on the internet about KK Anand sir, which stated that that he was an awesome professor for IIT-JEE coaching. I was a bit nervous when I started my classes as I was not sure whether I will be able to live up to expectations, but once I became accustomed to his standards, his classes were a wonderful experience. Perhaps, the best attribute of KK sir, which makes his classes a uniquely different experience is the humorous time that we have in his classes. It is amazing to find how he can extract humour out of almost any topic.

The most important ingredient required to succeed in any examination like the IIT-JEE is thorough understanding of the basic concepts and application of the same. This is what was focused upon in SMART, particularly in the foundation course. A Strong foundation is a pillar to success and my success in the KVPY examination is testimony to the course and more to KK Anand Sir, who imparted the precious technique to us. The foundation course exposed us to advanced concepts, which made them much easier to grasp in XI standard. Sir held special classes to prepare us for the KVPY exam and provided excellent study material as well.

The strong foundation has helped a lot in performing well in XI and XII standard. The tests he give and the problems we solve in class are challenging but it is an enjoyable experience trying to crack the problem. I am thankful to sir and have no doubt that SMART is the best place for IIT-JEE coaching in the city. If one is willing to put in the hard work, success is bound to come with the training at SMART .

I am very fortunate to be in SMART and KK Anand sir's great teaching is something which any student of SMART keeps enjoying. There is very good focus on the SOUND UNDERSTANDING OF THE FUNDAMENTAL CONCEPTS(Sir's words) and excellent training for the IIT JEE and the Olympiads. The highlight of this foundation course is that the level in the topics are covered is ide
ally suited for a very good platform for the 11th and 12th standards  main IIT JEE preparation and a very easy path for the KVPY Scholarships.

Sir's encouragement for the Olympiads has also been phenomenal. It is great awareness now that is being brought about among the students by KK Anand sir about the importance of Math Olympiads which transform a person's level of thinking by miles. This is hard to find in several institutes which train for the sake of an objective oriented IIT JEE examination alone. The several (reputed at national level) institutes have all been training the students with a course structure where the concepts taught in school are taken in an enhanced manner and it is more or less wasting of your valuable time and of course your money.

Anand sir's course structure for the JUNIOR Smart is very different and ranks clearly one of the best in India , inspite of having just one class a week schedule. Topics covered here slowly increase in the difficulty level and the way Anand sir teaches the topics is a delight for all the students.

The motivation that KK Anand sir has provided for the students is a phenomenal one. The way he has made us all work without making it a burden for us is great. Students are all motivated to work also because of the peer pressure in the class. When all the best students in the city join SMART, there is no tougher competition. There is no problem about individual attention. Doubts are answered when anyone has one and Anand sir's dedication is truly immense given the fact that Sir takes the time to answer doubts even in the night over the telephone.

SMART's great credential is that it is not a mere teacher-student relationship that is happening with the students. It is something more enjoyable. The class is taken in such a manner that people don't feel any burden in attending a 4-5 hrs class. Jokes are there in between and the friendly conversations can never be forgotten. At the same time, the topics are covered too which clearly shows the ease with which Anand sir balances the teaching in classes.

The motivation and inspiration from SMART is so great that students of SMART definitely achieve in the olympiads and IIT JEE.The dedication that KK Anand sir shows is rare and extremely hard to find with any professor in commercial training institutes.

To conclude, I would say SMART is the best place for the best talents all over the city and rightly stands up to its name of Science and Mathematics Academy of Real Talents.

R.Srinath X D.A.V Boys Gopalpuram

I am R.Srinath of Class X from D.A.V Boys Gopalpuram ,student of K.K.Anand sir. The following contains my experience about the foundation course for IIT-JEE.

I joined K.K sir classes as a part of the foundation course for IIT-JEE in my 9th standard .Ever since I joined I am feeling a tremendous elevation in my mental caliber and analytical skills. The standards and quality maintained by KK Sir are very high and every sunday class of him was a great and magnificent experience. KK sir's foundation course maintains a very high standards than many of other centers.

The humorous lectures of KK sir with a down-to-earth explanation of each and every concept made me understand even advanced topics in an easier way. Sir's classes provided a wide range of exposure for me and I was able to feel the improvement in each and every subject. Advices and personal attention given by sir will make everyone understand the real joy of learning .

Sir made me learn because I want to and not because I have to , so I always found great pleasure in learning the subjects . One major advice by Sir ,that is emphasis on Maths Olympiad has played a very crucial role in shaping my thinking process . Sir is also excellent in suggesting books for various competitive exams and the study materials provided by him are very rigorous ,also the difficult class tests conducted by Sir always makes one think at a higher horizon and demands a very thorough preparation .I am very thankful to KK sir for the foundation course and advice given by him to me which will play a major role in my IIT-JEE preparation .

Keshav Venkatraman

I joined KK Anand Sir's foundation course in 9th standard. At that time I knew very little of Math, Physics or Chemistry. SMART helped me lay a strong foundation in each of these subjects. Initially, I found it difficult as the standard in SMART was very high. It required a lot of hard work, especially due to the periodic tests.

KK Anand sir explained the concepts in each topic very well and therefore made problem solving easier. KK sir also prescribed books which helped us enhance our conceptual clarity. The classes were very interesting, and the way KK sir conducted the classes made it very enjoyable.

As I approach the end of the X standard and the Foundation course, I believe I am now well prepared for XI and XII standards. I am optimistic that I will perform well in the 11th and 12th standards, and in the competitive examinations at the end of 12th standard, thanks to KK Sir's Foundation Course .
