While half-way through X standard, we all started to seriously evaluate the options in front of us for IIT-JEE coaching. It actually zoomed to the following three choices :
• Classes taken by a team of Professors with 20 + years experience wherein hundreds of students, without much restriction are admitted.
• Classes run by a big corporate with popular brand name all over India.
• Classes taken by Shri KK Anand Sir through SMART, a young new entrant in this field, infact the upcoming one would be his first Chemistry batch to start with.
It wasn't that easy to pick the best, based on the bare minimum details we had, as all three are quite good. With the help of our family members, we made lot of efforts to gather reliable information about all the three choices. We made quite a thorough analysis and the choice became unanimous. The feedback on SMART was overwhelming. Even the bright students of other classes, who knew about the quality of coaching at SMART, praised Shri KK Anand Sir lavishly. There were students repenting that they didn't join SMART at all and some were repenting for having joined it quite late.
For Physics, there was no second opinion with anyone – Everyone rated KK Sir to be sky high than others. Many were totally unhappy with the standard of teaching elsewhere as well. It was an obvious choice. To know about Maths, we contacted many students and parents. Those who attended elsewhere, but do not know much about KK Sir's Maths coaching were really happy with their Prof. But those who had some knowledge on KK Sir's coaching as well, admitted that KK Sir is doing better stuff, though they were satisfied with their Maths Prof. Especially, some of those who attended Physics with KK Sir, while attending Maths elsewhere, had good knowledge of both the places. They ascertained KK Sir to be extraordinary in Maths and hence the best option for Maths as well, by outlining the tremendous positives on a relative merit, in terms of Teaching, Assignments, Tests and Guidance – all of which bound to make lot of difference in the end.
Regarding Chemistry, some students opined that KK Sir though taking for the first time would do a fantastic job as he did for Physics and Maths, while some were skeptical. For Organic Chemistry, those who attended Dr.DP Shankaran Sir were in great praise of his teaching, while many of those who attended elsewhere were, not that comfortable with their Prof regarding this topic, while some of them held him in high esteem. Many regarded their Physical Chemistry Prof to be outstanding though.
There wasn't too much negative reports on Choice 2, though some positives and negatives were expressed by students –but, relatively much behind choice 3 in the quality of training. Getting the most reliable information was the key factor in this exercise and Choice 3 was concluded to be much better finally. Whatever further clarification(s) needed was obtained during the very impressive Orientation lecture conducted by KK Sir for parents and students. Hence, we all joined SMART after clearing the challenging entrance exam, with the conviction that it is the ideal coaching institute at Chennai, for a student aspiring to get into IIT.
All these feedbacks we earlier had from others, has become a reality for us to experience. We are really thankful to those who gave the right feedbacks and we can now see the real big difference between the training at other places and at SMART. In Chennai, SMART is certainly the dream come true institute for a serious aspirant of IIT. It is well known to all of its students and many others who have come to know about its quality of training that, SMART has hardly any match in the city. Infact, there is no exaggeration in this statement and it is actually realized by all the students of SMART in the XI and XII standard level seriously preparing for IIT-JEE, as an obvious fact, as more than enough relative evaluation has been done in all the three subjects with school mates attending other places. Also, some of our school friends, who know to a good extent about the coaching at SMART, repent for not joining it.
We have now understood much better about why “Right Place for the Real Talents” has been tagged with SMART by KK Sir. We sincerely feel sorry for some of our bright school friends who didn't join SMART. They will be successful for sure. But we are equally sure that there would have been a considerable difference in their preparation level and the end-result, if they had opted otherwise.
This personal feeling of all of us and our parents, and all of those who gave the feedbacks, is shared for the benefit of all of our juniors. There is no denial that there are Institutes Or Classes at Chennai other than that of SMART, which are good, and we respect their valuable IIT-JEE coaching which benefits many students. But, having known the difference, we would also like to acknowledge that SMART is really the best, which is and will be accepted by all those who come to know quite well about SMART with unbiased open mind.
