PREFACE
SMART (Science and Mathematics Academy for Real Talents) takes great pleasure in introducing these workbooks for the benefit of students of standards V,VI, VII and VIII, which in opinion, will be of immense value to students. These are not just yet another set of books for students of middle school level. There are enough books available closely following the syllabus for assimilation of concepts. But, there is dearth of quality books focusing primarily on testing rigorously the conceptual clarity and variegated applications of the concepts. In general , students are also not much exposed to conceptual questions testing their analytical skills, since they are normally made to solve near-straight forward questions.
Hence, the primary objective of these workbooks is to address these issues and thereby enhance the maturity level in thinking of the students, through rigorous problem solving.
One should start solving these exercises only after completing the relevant topic through classroom studies. Here each chapter consists of 3 levels of exercises, viz. Concept based, application based and skill based. One should always start with concept exercise followed by Application exercise and then the Skill concepts. After each exercise one should analyze the performance to find out the areas of improvement.
