Dr. D P Sankaran's speech on SMART DAY Celebration

It is my great pleasure to be involved in teaching the students of SMART, not only that Prof K K Anand is unique, the students and their parents are also unique. I am teaching chemistry to students who are enrolled at many other place for maths and physics. But the involvement of the students and parents belonging to SMART make them unique.Even the alumni students are unique. I have never seen alumni students getting involved so intensely in the various activities of the institution. Parents can be said to be smart since they have admitted their children in SMART. SMART is well known to everyone as Science and Mathematics Academy for Real Talents run by Professor K K Anand, but I have my very own interpretation of SMART which brings out the various true characteristics of Professor K K Anand. He has taken up IIT-JEE training as a research work and has revolutionized it, causing tremendous impact at Chennai. So, it will be more appropriate to view SMART as follows: S - Sincere M – Meticulous A – Achiever R – Rolemodel T – Talent Sincerity - His wholehearted dedication in teaching the students which enables them to perform very well in competitive exam is highly admirable. I haven't seen anyone working day and night with so much involvement and passion for the progress of the students. Meticulous – He is not only sincere but very meticulous as well. Meticulous in whatever he does, with good planning ever in search of improvement. Achiever – He is not someone who just aims high but a real achiever. He has achieved a lot in a very short span of time that too when he is quite young. He has produced outstanding results quite consistently. This year (2009) he has bettered his previous results by producing AIR 5. Three of his students securing within AIR 100 (IIT-JEE 2009) is no mean achievement. Rolemodel – He has achieved so much because he has set very high standards in all the aspects necessary for IIT-JEE training. Hence he is certainly a role model for all the teachers training the students for IIT-JEE. Talent – He is immensely talented. It is unbelievable for even many of us in the teaching faternity to think about someone handling maths, physics and chemistry simultaneously extremely well for IIT-JEE. It takes many years of experience to specialize in even a considerable portion of one subject and especially so in the case of IIT-JEE which demands a lot in both conceptual aspects and their application. He is blessed with sheer talent to teach extremely well for all the three subjects with equal ease. No wonder students and parents adore him. The success rate of his students securing rank in IIT-JEE is phenomenal compared to all others and perhaps SMART will better the success in the years to come. I am confident that SMART will soon be well known to many others as the leading institute of the country in terms of quality results.

Parents Letter's on SMART DAY Celebration

Dear K K Anand Sir, Our heartiest congratulations for the successful and excellent conduct of the first Annual Day Celebration function of SMART organized by Alumni. The entire programme was methodically organized and neatly executed. The learned speakers lucidly brought out the need for coaching for IIT- JEE and succinctly pointed out the role of SMART and your good self in particular in meeting that challenging and stupendous task in that direction. Hats Off to you, your colleague professors and your family members for the valuable contribution. Time and again it will be remembered not only by alumni but also by parents, schools and of course by IITs your efforts in shaping future citizens cum IITians .The students of present SMART academy will certainly excel and outsmart the students of other IIT- JEE coaching institutes in India and bring laurels to SMART academy and your good self/co professors of SMART for untiring efforts put in by one and all (staff/relatives/alumni) of SMART. In the end I once again extend my warm greetings to one and all of 2009 Batch and wish them excellent future in academic pursuits – be IIT, NIT and Bits.
